Dr. Tran, a so called "action star that can do anything". Here's a cartoon from the creators of the "Happy Tree Friends" series. it is about a little oriental boy named Tran who is being mistaking for being an action movie star. He is constantly be "harassed" by the voice over person. He is usually put into situations where he is trying to do something and the voice over man starts to bother him. He has a catch praise "I have to do chores " that he uses to try and get rid of the voice.

I'm On A Boat (feat. T-Pain)- The Lonely Island

This is a song that a friend of mine showed to me on youtube. I just thought of it as hilarious and i think some people would feel the same. This song just shows that with the right beat anything sounds good no matter what the person or people are singing about. Hope you enjoy it.

Blink-182 is born to be...

The second documentary was on another musical artist. They are Blink-182. The documentary was a show called "Born To Be". It cover the band history right up to their 2005 "indefinite hiatus".

The history of the band started in 1992 when the bassist Mark Hoppus met Tom Delonge the future guitarist of Blink-182. The two became good friends and formed a band called "Ducktape" along with a friend Scott Raynor. Then later changed it to "blink" but due to a threat of legal action had to change it again but this time to blink-182. The 182 standing for the number of times Al Pacino said the F word in movie Scarface.

Then in 1998 drummer Scott Raynor left the band and Travis Barker took the position. That's pretty much been the line-up ever since. Since Travis joined, the band has made three very successful albums Enema Of The State, Take Off Your Pants and Jacket, and the self-titled album. Each spawning single such as All The Small Things, What's My Age Again, The Rock Show, and I Miss You.

But shortly after their latest album Blink-182 called it quits because of some internal band argument over the future direction of the band. Then this year at the 51st Annual Grammies the band announced that they were getting back together and were going on tour this summer.

So all's well that ends well.

The Real Gorillaz...

The first documentary that I watched was actually a mockumentary called "The Charts Of Darkness". It basically was a inside look at the people behind the Gorillaz. The Gorillaz is an animated rap/rock band from the U.K. They have seen commercial sucess all around the world and mainly in the U.S. with hits like Clint Eastwood, Tomorrow Comes Today, and most recently Feel Good Inc. off of their lastest album Demon Days. The "band" consist of fictional characters 2D, Noodle, Russel, and Murdoc. While the actual band consist of two people Damon Albam and Jamie Hewlett, who collabrate with many different artist to help with their songs.

In the documentary there was a man trying to figure out just who exactly were behind the Gorillaz and made it his mission to find out. So throughout the entire mockumentary the man is on a wild goose-chase. Only to find that he just missed them by a couple of days. Along the way he interviews countless people to better understand just who these people are.

While all this is going on Damon is going around and getting things together for their new album. This is where it gets kind of weird because we find out that Damon is living in a false reality and believes that the Gorillaz are really. He is seen booking hotel rooms and doing things for the band as if they were really.

Thats where the man (interviewer) comes to the conclusion that Damon is crazy and that everything is in his head. And That was the documentary on the Gorillaz.

Here is the trailer for the upcoming movie "Terminator: Salvation". This kind of a prequel and a continuation to the three movies before. The story starts in the future and goes back to the past. Thats where the story gets confusing , but the story is better if you watch all the movies so i won't spoil it for you people who have never seen a Terminator movie. Happy Watchings...

...It's The Man...

"The Corporation" was the video that we viewed in class on Monday. It was a documentary about as the name gives away "The Corporation". "The Corporation" is all the media that tries to influence what, when, and how we buy our products. It is one of the main components that makes this world go round and round. With out it our economy would crash and burn.

It alone makes the decision of what type of media is distributed among the (world) population. "The Corporation" is made up of millions and millions of different companies they all have one goal, which is to market their products. and we as human beings find the need to obtain these useless necessities. We use the media as a way of relieving ourselves of stress from the everyday life. We expect to come home and just enjoy some good "quality" entertainment, like watching T.V., listening to music, and other various activities, unbeknownst to us we are being hypnotized and being fed a crap load of different types of advertisements. These are ways some big companies reach the people.

The big companies like the Turner Broadcasting, FOX broadcasting, and spend millions of dollars to catch the attention of viewers like you and me.

Here's a live version of Given Up, off Linkin Park's latest album Minutes To Midnight. I like this song because of the 17 second long scream, which in live versions is cut into two 8 second long screams. But he does scream for the whole 17 second on some occasions. All in all this is a great song.

A Day In The Life Of Me...

Saturday Febuary 14, 2009
8:00 A.M. - Awoken to the song "Rise Above This" playing on my phone, got ready to head out with the parents to go get something to eat.

9:00 - Still waiting for parents. I checked my e-mail, myspace, and facebook while enjoyin the music playing in the background.

10:00 - Parents arrive. Headed downtown to Applebee's to get some grub. Along the way we listen to some music. When we arrived I took a closer look around the resturant and notice all sorts of things like that the T.V.s were all Polaroid brand and that there were lots and lots of Colorado sports related paraphernalia.

11:00 - Next stop was Wal-Mart where there were loads and loads of different name brand items. Alongside that certain type of atmosphere that makes you feel like everything is within reach as far as prices go. Mostly because of the "Everyday Low Prices" slogan, consumers have the need to buy as much as they can, so they feel that they are getting a good price.

12:00 - 3:00 P.M. - Got back to campus said good-bye to the parents. Then headed to Purgatory for some snowboarding. Along the way my friends and I jammed to a couple tunes.

4:00 - Got back to Durango and stopped at Wendy's to get something to eat. Then stopped at the Shell gas station to get some gas.

5:00 - Then across the street to Albertson's for a couple of things.

6:00 - Got back to campus and started setting up Rock Band for the Rock Band night

7:00 - 11:00 - Started the Rock Band night and rocked out all night long.

12:00 A.M. - Went to McDonald's for a mid-night snack, while enjoying some music along the way.

1:00 - Got back to campus and hit the hay.

Just recently at the Grammy's, blink-182 confirmed that they were offically back together. I have always been a huge fan of blink-182 and when i heard that they broke up in 2004, i couldn't believe it. So of course the news of the reunion came as one of the greatest moments in my short life. I just have to say thank you blink...

This is a cover song originally by The Drifters performed by The Misfits. It is a song that my band and i play on various occasions. I enjoy this version because of the punk rock sound, heavily distorted guitars and the melodic feeling of it. Thus making it one of my all time favorite songs.

Ad Deconstruction: The Watchmen

The Meaning Of Stuff

"The World Will Look Up And Shout...Save Us......And I'll Whisper....No...."

A line from trailer of the upcoming movie "The Watchmen". So this ad for an upcoming movie based on a comic. The trailer itself is very deep and visually stunning. The trailer features scenes that kind of set the mood for the movie and gives the viewer a better understanding the of The Watchmen. The trailer is made in a way that would attract many people despite wether or not they are a comic fan or not. The setting of the trailer is mostly set in a city that seems to be or similar to New York City. The entire video has a sort of darkened atmosphere to it, mainly due to the the story unfolding as the trailer goes on.

The characters in the trailer are the superheroes or to be exact The Watchmen. The Watchmen consist of the The Comedian, Dr. Manhattan, Nite-Owl, Ozymandias, Rorschach, and The Silk Spectre, all of which make appearances in the trailer. Also the background music was a great choice it really went together with the whole message of the clip. The song used was "The End Is The Beginning Is The End" by Smashing Pumpkins, it sets the mood for what the director wants the viewer to feel. It starts in a dark setting but as the trailer progresses it lightens a bit.

So all together the trailer was very interesting and appealing. So i would say it will be a very successful ad.

This is just one of the many "Ask A Ninja" episodes that I have been following for about almost a year now, well since it's release anyway. It is a on-going series which is as the name gives away is about asking a ninja a question. Questions that usually range from things like "what is a ninja?" to "What is the circumference of a moose?". This is actually an episode that has some questions instead of the normal one question episodes. Enjoy

Ello...

Ello...my name is Darius and i would like to say...umm...i forgot...
